Review Question
What is the safety and efficacy of Nifedipine compared with all other antihypertensives in the management of hypertensive crisis in pregnancy?
Study Type Included
Will include randomized controlled trials (RCTs), regardless of language or publication status.
Condition Being Studied
Hypertension is the most common disorder in pregnancy. The hypertensive disorders of pregnancy leads to maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality. The drugs mostly used for this condition are labetalol, nifedipine and hydralazine. Nifedipine is a calcium channel blocker which is used as a safer drug in hypertensive crisis in pregnancy.
Participant
We will include women who are pregnant of aged 18 years and more diagnosed with hypertension. We will include studies compare directly nifedipine with other antihypertensive drugs on maternal and neonatal outcomes in pregnant patients with hypertension. We will exclude studies which compare nifedipine combinations with other antihypertensives for management of hypertension in pregnancy.

We will include studies used Nifedipine alone given for management of hypertension in pregnancy.
Comparator Control
All other antihypertensives used in the management of hypertensive crisis in pregnancy.
