Title
The efficacy and safety of mucopolysaccharide polysulfate cream for the treatment of nonexudative eczema
Review Question
This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of mucopolysaccharide polysulfate cream for the treatment of nonexudative eczema.
Study Type Included
Only the randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on mucopolysaccharide polysulfate cream for the treatment of nonexudative eczema were included in this review. RCTs published in the form of dissertations were also included.
Condition Being Studied
Eczema, as a common skin disease, is characterized by a complex etiology and apparent pruritus. The clinical manifestation of eczema is diverse, and eczema lesions can develop in the whole body and are usually symmetric. Pruritus is one of the most typical symptoms of the disease. The burdens of eczema for patients, their family and friends, the healthcare system and society are substantial. For the treatment of eczema, moisturizers can be the main primary treatment for mild disease and should be part of the regimen for moderate and severe disease, such as glycerol, lactic acida and urea. Mucopolysaccharide polysulfate cream are widely used as moisturizers for dry skin. A lot of articles have shown that it alone or combined with anti-inflammatory agents, such as topical corticosteroids (TCS) and topical calcineurin inhibitors (TCI), can treat eczema effectively.
