Inclusion criteria: Healthy patients undergoing dental treatment and receiving inferior alveolar nerve block Patient age range from 18-65 years Exclusion criteria: Patients younger than 18 or older than 65 years, were allergic to mannitol, local anesthetics, or sulfites, were pregnant or nursing, had a history of significant medical conditions (American Society of Anesthesiologists Class II or higher), were taking any medications that might affect anesthetic assessment, had active sites of pathosis in the area of injection, or were unable to give informed consent
