- Inclusion: randomised controlled trials (parallel or cross-over design). No minimum study duration will be set. Exclusion: observational studies, pre-post studies

- Blood glucose measures (fasting glucose, fasting insulin, HbA1c, and HOMA-IR)
- Participant
- Adults (aged 18 years and older) will be eligible for inclusion in the review. These include individuals with and without type II diabetes. Studies will not be excluded based on participant gender and ethnicity.
