- Review Question
- In this study, we aimed to perform a preclinical systematic evaluation of the efficacy of CIG and the mechanistic design of experimental AD. Context and rationale Alzheimer's disease (AD) is an age-related neurodegenerative disease that causes occult memory loss and cognitive decline, eventually leading to death from damage to most brain and body tissues and organs.AD not only severely affects the quality of life of patients, but also increases the mental and physical burden of caregivers. At present, there is no unified and clear conclusion on the pathogenesis of AD, and the common drugs used to treat Alzheimer's disease can only relieve the symptoms, but not stop the disease progression. Therefore, there is an urgent need to find a new approach to prevent or treat cognitive impairment, especially those caused by AD.Some studies have shown that CIG can improve cognitive function. However, the mechanism of action of CIG as a potential target agent for AD remains unclear. Therefore, in this study, we aimed to perform a preclinical systematic evaluation of the efficacy of CIG and the mechanistic design of experimental AD.
