- How do different grades of mercury exposure affect cognition in adults?
- Study Type Included
- We will include observational studies, cohort designs, case-control, and cross-sectional. Case studies that focus on a small sample (less than 5) will be excluded.

- Mercury exposure. Cognition in adults.
- Participant
- Inclusion: Adults aged 18 and over. Exclusion: Adolescents under 18.

- Mercury exposure in occupational, medicinal, and everyday settings.

- Main Outcome
- The following cognitive domains will be used as outcomes, with example testing batteries given in brackets: sustained attention (Trail Making Test A), divided attention (Trail Making Test B), motor function (Grooved Pegboard), immediate memory (California Verbal Learning Test), recent memory (same as immediate), visuospatial/constructional skills (Block Design), executive functioning (Raven's Matrices), language (Verbal Fluency), and processing speed (Symbol Digits). Measures of effect Standardised mean differences.
