- To assess the effects of intranasal steroids, leukotriene antagonists, decongestant, and second generation Histamine H1 Antagonists in adult patients with allergic rhinitis.
- Study Type Included
- Randomised, double-blinded, parallel group design clinical trials will be included, otherwise excluded.
- Condition Being Studied
- Allergic rhinitis is a common disease characterised by nasal itch, sneezing, rhinorrhoea and nasal obstruction, sometimes accompanied by allergic conjunctivitis. It is divided into seasonal allergic rhinitis and persistent allergic rhinitis.
- Participant
- Patients older than 18 years with seasonal or persistent allergic rhinitis without asthma.

- Intervention
- Any single or combination treatment of intranasal steroids, leukotriene antagonists, decongestants, or second generation Histamine H1 Antagonists compared with placebo will be included. Other treatments will be excluded.
- Comparator Control
- Placebo.
- Main Outcome
- Total nasal symptoms.
- Outcome Measure
- Additional Outcome
- Nasal blockage, nasal discharge, sneezing, nasal itch, total nasal symptoms, nasal resistance, eye symptoms and quality of life score.
