- Title
- Diagnostic accuracy of anti-deamidated gliadin peptide IgG antibodies for diagnosing celiac disease in patients with IgA deficiency or children under 2 years: a Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
- Review Question
- What is the diagnostic accuracy of the anti-deamidated gliadin peptide IgG antibodies for diagnosing celiac disease in patients with IgA deficiency or less than two years old?
- Study Type Included
- Diagnostic accuracy studies, in principle, cross-sectional studies and case-control studies. All studies must have anti-deamidated gliadin peptide IgG antibodies (index test) validated with an endoscopic duodenal biopsy (gold standard test) or previous definitive CD diagnostic.
- Condition Being Studied
- Celiac Disease (CD)
- Participant
- Individuals (any age) with IgA deficiency or children under 2 years.
- Animal
- Human Disease Modelled
- Intervention
- anti-deamidated gliadin peptide IgG antibodies
- Comparator Control
- Endoscopic duodenal biopsy or previous definitive CD diagnostic.
- Main Outcome
- The main objective of our study is to evaluate the diagnostic capability of anti-gliadin deamidated IgG antibodies in differentiating the presence or absence of celiac disease in patients with IgA deficiency or children under 2y. Measures of effect Diagnostic accuracy must be measured by accuracy, true positive (TP) rate, false positive (FN) rate, true negative (TN) rate, false negative (FN) rate, negative predictive value, positive predictive value, sensibility, specificity, overall accuracy, positive and negative likelihood ratio, whenever data allows.
