Title
Effect of epigallocatechin gallate on adult blood lipids, blood pressure and obesity: a systematic evaluation and meta-analysis
Review Question
People:people with different disease or healthy people. Interventions:epigallocatechin gallate. Control measures: placebo or no treatment. Outcome indicators: weight , diastolic pressure, systolic pressure, Total serum cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein (LDL), triglyceride (TG).
Study Type Included
Randomized clinical trial,excluding animal experiments.
Condition Being Studied
Obesity, hypertension and hyperlipidemia are high risk factors of many diseases and are major public health events in the world. Green tea, green tea extract, catechin and epigallocatechin gallate have good effects on many diseases. The purpose of this systematic evaluation is to evaluate the effect of epigallocatechin gallate on obesity, blood pressure and blood lipids.
Participant
People with different disease or healthy people

Human Disease Modelled
Intervention
epigallocatechin gallate
Comparator Control
Placebo or no treatment
Main Outcome
Mean and standard deviation of serum cholesterol, low density lipoprotein and triglyceride concentrations , body weight, systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Measures of effect Use R language for meta-analysis. Heterogeneity was determined using I² statistics and the Cochran Q test.If the fixed effect model is used for homogeneity, the random effect model is used for heterogeneity. For the change of main outcome indicators, we use WMD as the effect quantity. With regard to the sources of heterogeneity, we intend to use subgroup analysis for detection. Considering the meta-regression, we used this method to explore the impact of intervention duration on the heterogeneity of the main outcome indicators. Finally, we test the existence of publication bias through funnel diagram, Egger method and Begg method. At the same time, we will also use sensitivity analysis to check the reliability of the research results.
