Condition Being Studied
The organophosphorus compound is widely available and commonly used in India and other parts of the world to commit suicide. If patients are not given urgent and optimal treatment there is a high chance of morbidity and mortality. There is a rise in serum amylase levels in organophosphorus Poisoning. Serum amylase level is usually used for the diagnosis of Pancreatitis. What is the prognostic value of serum amylase level in predicting mortality in organophosphorus poisoning? Knowing the early level of serum amylase the primary physician can understand the graveness and manage accordingly.
Participant
Confirmed cases of Organophosphorus poisoning cases by history, specific clinical examination, and basic laboratory test in which serum amylase level was measured or evaluated. Inclusion criteria: 1. Observational studies that reported prognostic values of serum amylase in organophosphorus poisoning in terms of mortality. 2. Studies with full text. 3. Primary organophosphorus poisoning cases. 4. Studies published in the English language. Exclusion criteria: 1. Review articles. 2. studies not reporting serum amylase and their prognostic result. 3. Studies with mixed poisoning. 4. Conference Proceedings, preprint, Abstract, Letter to the editor, Editorial case reports. 5. Studies done on children under 18 years.

We will use the serum amylase level cut-off recorded in the studies.
Main Outcome
Can serum amylase level predict mortality in case of organophosphorus poisoning? Measures of effect Sensitivity, specificity, and Cut-off value of serum amylase level for predicting mortality in organophosphorus poisoning. The summary area under the curve will be computed for determining the discriminatory power of the serum amylase for organophosphorus poisoning. Diagnostic odds ratio, positive likelihood ratio, and negative likelihood ratio will be computed to assess the predictive accuracy of serum amylase for predicting organophosphorus poisoning.
