- To assess the effect of soy isoflavones on cognition.
- Study Type Included
- We will include the following RCT designs: parallel, factorial, and cross-over. We will not include cluster-randomized trials. We will exclude observational studies (cohort, cross-sectional, and case-control) and quasi-randomized studies. We will restrict studies to English.
- Condition Being Studied
- Cognitive decline; soy isoflavones are suggested to be associated with cognition for its multiple health effects (e.g., anti-inflammation, estrogen-like effect, etc.).
- Participant
- Exclusion criteria: participants are under the age of 18.
- Animal
- Human Disease Modelled
- Intervention
- Soy isoflavones (including genistein and daidzein).
- Comparator Control
- Placebo, an intervention other than soy isoflavones, or non-exposed control group.
- Main Outcome
- Neuropsychological test score (continuous).
