- To our knowledge, evidence about the association of AMD with blood levels of these nutrients has not yet been synthesized thus far, and a meta-analysis is warranted before comprehensively evaluate the potential eye health effects of carotenoids and vitamins. We aimed to conduct this comprehensive meta-analysis to examine the association of plasma carotenoids and vitamins and fish intake with the risk of age-related macular degeneration.
