Title
Non-bismuth concomitant quadruple therapy for Helicobacter pylori eradication in the Chinese region: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
Review Question
To evaluate whether non-bismuth concomitant quadruple therapy is a reasonable choice for H. pylori eradication as a first line therapy in the Chinese region.
Study Type Included
Randomized controlled trials.
Condition Being Studied
Helicobacter pylori infection has been proved to be the major cause of chronic gastritis, gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, gastric adenocarcinoma, and gastric mucosa-associated lymphoma. Moreover, H. pylori eradication has become the standard and most widely adopted therapy for curing peptic ulcer disease. The optimal treatment for H. pylori eradication, however, is still unknown.
Participant
Randomized controlled trials that evaluate the efficacy of non-bismuth concomitant quadruple therapy in H. pylori eradication; studies performed within the region, which consists mostly of Chinese people, including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore.
Animal
Human Disease Modelled
Intervention
Non-bismuth concomitant quadruple therapy.
Comparator Control
Sequential therapy and standard triple therapy.
Main Outcome
