本品为类圆形或圆柱形的段。外表面淡黄白色，略粗糙，偶有残存外皮，未去外皮的表面黄棕色。有纵皱纹及棕黄色点状突起的细根痕。切面皮部浅黄白色，形成层环棕黄色至深褐色，木部黄色，部分中间有裂隙或空洞。质坚脆。气特异，味微甘。

注意

不宜与藜芦同用。

除去残茎和杂质，略润，切段，干燥。
