性状
本品为无色至微黄色的澄清液体；臭特异。久贮或暴露空气中，臭渐增强，色渐变黄。本品易燃，燃烧时产生浓烟。 本品在乙醇中易溶，与三氯甲烷、乙醚或冰醋酸能任意混溶，在水中不溶。 相对密度 应为0.850～0.870（通则0601）。 馏程 取本品，照馏程测定法（通则0611）测定，在154～165℃馏出的数量不得少于90.0%（ml/ml）。 折光率 应为1.466～1.477（通则0622）。
检查
乙醇中不溶物 取本品1ml，加90%乙醇7ml，振摇使溶解，溶液应澄清。 酸值 应不大于0.5（通则0713）。
贮藏
遮光，密封，置阴凉处。
鉴别
（1）取本品1g，加石油醚（30～60℃）5ml，摇匀，作为供试品溶液。另取松节油对照提取物1g，同法制成对照提取物溶液。再取α-蒎烯对照品，加石油醚（30～60℃）制成每1ml含40mg的溶液，作为对照品溶液。照薄层色谱法（通则0502）试验，吸取上述三种溶液各1～5μl，分别点于同一硅胶G薄层板上，以环己烷-丙酮（9∶1）为展开剂，展开，取出，晾干，喷以5%香草醛硫酸溶液，在105℃加热至斑点显色清晰。供试品色谱中，在与对照提取物色谱和对照品色谱相应的位置上，显相同颜色的斑点。 （2）取本品50mg，置棕色量瓶中，加无水乙醇5ml使溶解，摇匀，作为供试品溶液。另取β-蒎烯对照品、莰烯对照品适量，加无水乙醇制成每1ml各含0.2mg的溶液，作为对照品溶液。照气相色谱法（通则0521）测定。 50%苯基-50%甲基聚硅氧烷毛细管柱（柱长为30m，内径为0.25mm，膜厚度为0.25μm）；柱温为程序升温：初始温度40℃，以每分钟1℃的速率升温至50℃，再以每分钟3℃的速率升温至200℃；进样口温度250℃；检测器温度300℃；分流进样，分流比15∶1；流速为每分钟1.0ml。理论板数按莰烯峰计算应不低于20000。 分别吸取对照品溶液和供试品溶液各1μl，注入气相色谱仪，记录色谱图。供试品色谱中应呈现与对照品色谱峰保留时间相一致的色谱峰。
含量测定
照气相色谱法（通则0521）测定。 色谱条件与系统适用性试验 50%苯基-50%甲基聚硅氧烷毛细管柱（柱长为30m，内径为0.25mm，膜厚度为0.25μm）；柱温为程序升温：初始温度为50℃，保持4分钟，以每分钟20℃的速率升温至150℃。理论板数按α-蒎烯峰计算应不低于8000。 校正因子测定 取正丁醇适量，精密称定，加无水乙醇制成每1ml含10mg的溶液，作为内标溶液。另取α-蒎烯对照品约70mg，精密称定，置10ml棕色量瓶中，加无水乙醇溶解并稀释至刻度，摇匀，精密量取1ml，置10ml量瓶中，精密加入内标溶液1ml，加无水乙醇至刻度，摇匀，吸取1μl注入气相色谱仪，计算校正因子。 测定法 取本品约0.25g，精密称定，置25ml棕色量瓶中，用无水乙醇溶解并稀释至刻度，摇匀。精密量取1ml，置10ml棕色量瓶中，精密加入内标溶液1ml，用无水乙醇稀释至刻度，摇匀，吸取1μl注入气相色谱仪，测定，即得。 本品含α-蒎烯（C10H16）不得少于80.0%。
