性状
本品呈不规则段。茎圆柱形，表面淡绿色或黄绿色，节明显，略膨大。切面中空。叶多破碎。花萼筒状，苞片4～6。蒴果长筒形，与宿萼等长。种子细小，多数。气微，味淡。

除去杂质，洗净，稍润，切段，干燥。
贮藏
置通风干燥处。
鉴别
（1）本品粉末绿黄色或浅绿棕色。纤维多成束，边缘平直或波状，直径10～25（～38）μm；有的纤维束外侧的细胞含有草酸钙簇晶，形成晶纤维。草酸钙簇晶较多，直径7～35μm，散在或存在于薄壁细胞中。花粉粒类圆球形，直径31～75μm，具散孔，表面有网状雕纹。 （2）取本品粉末1g，加甲醇10ml，超声处理20分钟，滤过，滤液浓缩至1ml，作为供试品溶液。另取瞿麦对照药材和石竹对照药材各1g，同法制成对照药材溶液。照薄层色谱法（通则0502）试验，吸取上述三种溶液各1μl，分别点于同一聚酰胺薄膜上，以正丁醇-丙酮-醋酸-水（2∶2∶1∶16）为展开剂，展开，取出，晾干，喷以三氯化铝试液，热风吹干，置紫外光灯（365nm）下检视。供试品色谱中，在与瞿麦对照药材或石竹对照药材色谱相应的位置上，显相同颜色的荧光斑点。
功能与主治
利尿通淋，活血通经。用于热淋，血淋，石淋，小便不通，淋沥涩痛，经闭瘀阻。
性味与归经
苦，寒。归心、小肠经。
用法与用量
9～15g。
