- NCI2016_NCI-GLOSS_1602D:A condition in which some of the veins in the liver are blocked. It is sometimes a complication of high-dose chemotherapy given before a bone marrow transplant and is marked by increases in weight, liver size, and blood levels of bilirubin.|NCI2016_02D:A disorder characterized by damage of the hepatic sinusoidal endothelial cells of the hepatic venules that leads to venular occlusion and hepatocellular necrosis. It is usually the side effect of high dose chemotherapy in preparation for stem cell transplantation. Less frequently it may be caused by ingestion of plant alkaloids. The clinical signs and symptoms include hyperbilirubinemia, hepatomegaly, and fluid retention.|MSH2017_2016_08_12:Liver disease that is caused by injuries to the ENDOTHELIAL CELLS of the vessels and subendothelial EDEMA, but not by THROMBOSIS. Extracellular matrix, rich in FIBRONECTINS, is usually deposited around the HEPATIC VEINS leading to venous outflow occlusion and sinusoidal obstruction.
